AKA Tops Metro FM Charts

I dont know how it happend but this guy some how managed to become my 1st favourite rapper in S.A.
I listened to his mixtape "24/7/366" without even skipping one track (lol).

AKA's single ''Victory lap”, has stayed at the top of Metro FM's Top 40 Charts for four consecutive weeks.
The hip hop song, which debuted on the charts at number 29, has competed for twelve weeks.
Released in November last year, the song has also been remixed by HHP, Tumi and Amu.

AKA says that besides the hard work of making sure that the music he releases is his best and a true reflection of himself, he also owes it to his fans from around the country who have been showing him great support and encouragement on all platforms. He says that keeping in communication with his fans and supporters on platforms like Twitter and Facebook “is important for any artist that is serious about his career and craft.”
His album "Alter Ego" is to be released this year, (im just not sure when) and im definately getting myself a copy.

JR Wins Tropika Island Of Treasure

As if the million rand deal he got from Vodacom wasn't enough, this nigga goes on to win another million on Etv's game show Tropika Island Of Treasure (lol dont get me wrong, im not hating on the dude).

The ''Show Dem" singer beat female rivals Thandeka Steenkamp, Dionne Song and Latoya Ragebult, to win the grand prize.
After the show, JR told reporters that his next step would be to promote his new single, ''Show Goes On'', which features Jack Parow and Die Heuwels Fantasties.
He added that fans can expect his new album in September this year.

This year's Tropika Island of Treasure was held on the exotic island of Phuket in Thailand, and the line up of celebrities included Bonang Matheba, Tatum Keshwar, Loyiso Gola, Khanyi Mbau, JR and Dionne Song.

Our RISING STAR for this month is none other than the KING OF HOOKS, GK formely known as NGK (lol dont know why he removed the N).

GK is a former member of the group Megaclips which dropped a whole lot of hits during 2007 - 2009, he was also part of the 015 movement.
During 2010 GK dropped his 1st Mixtape titled "New Born Sound" (which you can download on the link below) and later Dropped a whole lot of tracks online for his 2nd Mixtape "October 21st".

Lil Wayne's Carter series album sales are always high and besblee that Tha Carter IV is gonna sell.
 In the summer of 2004, Wayne's album Tha Carter was released, selling 878,000 copies in the United States
Tha Carter II, the follow-up to the original Tha Carter album, was released in December 2005, Tha Carter II sold more than 238,000 copies in its first week of release, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, and went on to sell 2,000,000 copies world wide.

Tha Carter III was released on June 10, 2008, selling more than a million copies in its first week of release, the first to do so since 50 Cent's The Massacre in 2005.

If Tha Carter IV isnt the most anticipated album for 2011 then i really dont know what is.

Superman, Batman, Spider-man (lol my favourite super hero), X-Men, Hulk, Ironman etc. These are all Marvel Super Heroes which have all got a movie to their name and now Marvel Studios expands its film universe to bring us another one of their super hero movies THOR. (Now this is a movie im not gonna miss infact im getting myself a ticket the day its in theaters)

Dance competition places focus on youth development, through Hip hop

Hip-Hop has changed dramatically what was considered to be violent and an intimidating form of lifestyle. Hip-hop has become the mainstream or the default musical setting of the culture. As a result rap, graffiti & dancing are now used to sell everything from fast food to cars, brand marketing and used to gain access to youth in danger.  Hip-hop has gone beyond being just about music, but hip-hop has actually become a brand, a lifestyle and an urban culture that almost everybody aspires to be associate with – even big corporate.

It is estimated that 80-percent of urban youth can be reached through Hip-Hop, which encompasses rap, graffiti, dancing and fashion. With that said Dios Mismo Entertainment cc, a youth-owned entertainment and events coordinating entity has surfaced the idea of an event that will be used to present the South African hip-hop market, preferably dancers, with opportunities of growth. This does not only pertain to growth in their dancing but growth in their spiritual, mental, psychological and professional facets of life. DA KRUMP FACEOFF is such an event, this is a dance competition that places it’s focus on the development of hip-hop dancers, whereas the aim of this event is that every dancer that competes in this competition will be challenged in every regard; psychologically, mentally, physically & professionally.

Lupe Fiasco To Move To Africa & Make Rock Music?

Lupe Fiasco's long awaited Laser's leaked on the net this past week and seems like people had alot of negative things to say bout it. In an interview with Kevin W. Reese from Hot 97, Lupe focused on the future.
When asked where he sees himself in five years, Lupe had a surprising answer. "Hopefully I'll be out of my traditional record deal, the record deal I'm in right now. Probably living in Africa somewhere, making rock music," he said. When pressed if he was serious Lupe laughed and said, "Who knows man? Who knows? I don't know."
The Chi-Town emcee then elaborated on his wish to be free of Atlantic Records. "Yeah, yeah. I would rather be independent, I would take that," he said, before adding that independence isn't the easy way out. "Independent comes with its own set of consequences, so that takes preparation. The same way you prepare to come into a record deal, you need to prepare to come into an indie situation because there is a lot of things you're going to lose taking that route."

Its that time again when artists find out by a show of album sales whether the public loves their music or if people think what they are doin is just a complete flop

The four top urban artists were within 4,000 units of each other, approximately speaking. Bruno Mars' Doo Wops & Hooligans fell one spot, to #6.
Eminem's Recovery also went down one spot. Earlier this week, a bunch of leaked material hit the Internet from the late '00s, recording by the Aftermath Entertainment superstar. Rihanna's Loud climbed two spots, returning to its #8 from two weeks ago. Nicki Minaj held strong at #9 with Pink Friday.

Storyline

For some of ya'll that didn't know (like me) The Green Hornet was a television series shown on the ABC U.S. television network. It aired for the 1966-1967 television season and starred Van Williams as both the Green Hornet and Britt Reid, and Bruce Lee as Kato.

This Movie is a must see for all you action comedy lovers. when i went to watch this movie i really didnt expect it to be as dope as it was. I must say, It exceeded my expectations.

Sony has revealed its latest portable console, called "Next Generation Playstation Portable. (NGP)"

Some of the features on this device are;  a quad core ARM cortex A9 processor, 5-inch touchscreen OLED display with 960 x 544 resolution, dual analog sticks, 3G, WiFi, GPS, a rear-mounted touchpad, the same accelerometer / gyroscope motion sensing as in the Playstation Move, an electronic compass, and cameras on both the front and back.
Games will come on "new media," not UMD anymore, not sure what type of memory is being used.

I know most of you gamers can't wait to get your hands on this baby.
And no NGP Does'nt stand for "New Gay Pal" lol but i know for a fact that when sony releases this device "Nintendo Gonna Panic"
